Market Academy Naschmarkt (MAN)

Market Academy Naschmarkt (MAN) opens on Saturday, 29 May 2010 in Naschmarkt (Vienna) at 19.00.

It is launched on occasion of the exhibition Into the City - Im Paradiesgarten (29 May - 5 June 2010), as part of the Wiener Festwochen (Vienna).

MAN inaugurates with 5 actions: MAN-Reception (in Tateus’s stand); MAN-Knoedel Fakultaet (in front of the small Chapel in Naschmarkt); MAN-Talks; MAN-Pamphlet; MAN-Drechsler.

Market Academy Naschmarkt Program

MAN-Reception is the main entrance to the Market Academy Naschmarkt, info point and coffee corner of the Market Academy Naschmarkt. Opening time: 29 May: from 9.00 to 24.00, 31 May, 1 and 2 June: from 9.00 to 18.00.

MAN-Talks are held by the market standholders in particular times of the day in the MAN-Knoedel Fakultaet. Reservations are accepted in the MAN-Reception.

MAN-Knoedel Fakultaet is an informal kitchen that experiments with dumped vegetables and fruits and hosts the MAN-Talks or other special events. It is open 29 May, 31 May, 1 and 2 June only during events time.

MAN-Pamphlet intends to stimulate thoughts and a debate around the market and collects statements from experts, activists, politicians, market people, market visitors.

MAN-Drechsler time occurs in the morning 31 May, 1 and 2 June. Coffee is offered as a gift to the market standholders as in the old times by the Drechsler café owner.

MAN-Gespräche: werden von Marktstandbetreibern zu bestimmten tageszeiten in der rezeption un in der MAN-Knödel Fakultät abgehalten. Reservierungen werden in der MAN-Rezeption entgegengenommen.

MAN-Drechsler: wie herr Drechsler – vom gleichnamigen Café – es jahrzentelang gemacht hat, wird den Verkäufern am Vormittag der Kaffee nach ihre jeweiligen Vorlieben an den stand gebracht.
